Membership Rules

The goal of this project is to develop a new paradigm in communication between citizens and their elected representatives. Precisely what that means and how it will be accomplished encompasses the set of issues that this project is intended to resolve. Those who join us will be making an investment in the future of governance, and ensuring that their perspectives are included in how that future unfolds.

There are three levels of membership at which organizations and individuals may participate:

Community

The Community is free to join and open to anyone that is interested in better communication between citizens and their elected representatives. Click here to join.

  • The community will ensure that all stakeholders may participate in the creation and testing of the new paradigm.
  • Members receive
    • Ability to participate in Public Working Groups
    • Updates on the progress of the new paradigm
    • Opportunities to participate in focus groups, pilot projects, and beta tests of new software that is intended to improve communication between citizens and their elected representatives.
  • There is no charge for joining the community.

Advisory Body

The Advisory Body participates in the discussions that form the new paradigm, its standards and technology. Join by filling out the application or connecting with Wayne.

  • It will be composed of organizations working in the field, as well as stakeholders that want to be actively involved in the development of the new paradigm.
  • Members receive the following additional benefits:
    • Participation in the Private Working Groups.
  • Annual Dues
    • For Profit: $500
    • Non Profit: $400
    • Individual: $200

Executive Body

The Executive Body is the decision making body for development and implementation of the new paradigm. Join by filling out the application or connecting with Wayne.

  • Composed of a maximum of 30 organizations working in the field.
  • New members must apply and be approved by the current Executive Body.
  • Members receive the following additional benefits:
    • Voting power in how the paradigm develops, including technology and standards developments and the formation of Working Groups.
    • Early access to new standards and technology (up to 60 days).
  • Annual Dues
    • For Profit (annual revenue)
      • Up to 1 million: $2000
      • Up to 10 million: $4000
      • Up to 100 million: $7000
      • Over 100 million: $10,000
    • Non Profit (annual operating budget)
      • Up to 1 million: $1500
      • Up to 10 million: $3000
      • Up to 100 million: $5250
      • Over 100 million: $7500

Additional Info

Open Forum Foundation

The Open Forum Foundation is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit that is responsible for administering and running the association, including:

  • Outreach and community growth
  • Member management
  • Administration of projects that come out of the association, including standards and technology creation
  • Maintaining the association’s documents and ensuring they are appropriately accessible to the public and to members
  • Meetings, including scheduling and agenda creation
  • Accounting for the association’s funds and their utilization
